Eosinophilic Granuloma

Abstract
Eosinophilic granuloma is one of the entities of Histiocytosis-Eosinophilic granuloma, Hand-Schuller-Christian disease, and Letterer-Siwe disease, all affecting the skeleton.
These entities corititues a wide spectrum of a non-neoplastic disorder of histiocytes of unknown cause, suggesting an inflammatory reaction.
Eosinophilic granuloma, the most benign form of these three entities, affects children and young adults generally.
Lesions most commonly involve the skull, spine, innominate bones, ribs and long bones, Solitary lesions have been noted to exist in at least half the cases.
Because the X-ray appearance of Eosinophilic granuloma may be indistinguishable from other inflammatory lesions, multiple myeloma, or metastatic tumor, a biopsy is usually indicated.
In most cases, the treatment of choice probably either complete curettage or curettage followed by irradiation.
Authors report a case of Eosinophilic granuloma involved proximal metaphyseal end of the left femur at 12 month old female.
Brief review of leteratures is submitted.
